Interior design in Essex, built on your own ideas.

Interior design

For anyone who can't quite picture the finished room: we build on your own ideas, work around the pieces you already love, and then make and fit the scheme in our own workroom.

Not everyone wants to hire an interior designer for the whole house, and not everyone wants to choose curtains on their own. Our interior design service sits between the two. It might be a mood board for one room, a full scheme for a bedroom or living room, or a plan for the whole house. We help you choose colours, fabrics and finishes, and coordinate them with your decor and the furniture you're keeping.

What makes it different is the workroom behind it. The scheme doesn't stop at a drawing: the curtains we make for your scheme, Roman blinds made in our workroom, motorised curtains and blinds, upholstery and headboards and cushions and soft furnishings are all made and fitted by the same team that helped design them.

If you're looking for an interior designer in Essex or around Chelmsford, an interior design consultation with us starts with a conversation about the room, how you use it and what you'd like it to feel like. We're based at Howe Street, near Chelmsford, and work mainly across Essex and the Home Counties. We take on larger projects further afield, and we work in London too.

whole rooms we have furnished

Our design work isn't only for homes. At Mulberry House Hotel, High Ongar, we redesigned the main lounge with new curtains, reupholstered furniture, new paint colours, reframed artwork and new coffee tables, and the hotel's Bridal Suite was redesigned by Sew & Sew too. See the Mulberry House lounge scheme, or read about interior design for hotels and venues.
