Mulberry House Hotel, High Ongar

We've worked with Mulberry House Hotel in High Ongar over the last six years, gradually updating its rooms and social spaces. Rather than one big refit, the work has happened space by space.

The main lounge

In 2024 we transformed the hotel's main lounge. The wing and tub chairs were reupholstered in our workroom, in rust velvet, bold floral velvets and blue, and finished with floral cushions. New full-length curtains were made and hung at the tall sash windows, and the room was given new paint colours, reframed artwork and new coffee tables, all as one scheme.

The bedrooms

A more recent bedroom scheme brings together striped box pelmets over full-length curtains, oak beds dressed with green throws with a striped border, and tweed check cushions, against a bird and blossom wallpaper. The fabrics are from GP & J Baker.

The Bridal Suite

In 2026 the hotel's Bridal Suite was redesigned by Sew & Sew: lit mirror stations and styling chairs at one end of the room, and a seating area with an upholstered sofa and a cane-backed armchair by the sash windows.
