Made for the room.
Six services, one workroom. Curtains, Roman blinds, cushions and soft furnishings, and all of our upholstery are made in our Howe Street workroom. Roller, Venetian, vertical, pleated and rooflight blinds, and motorised systems, are supplied and fitted by our own team. Design advice runs through all of it, whether you need one blind or a whole house of bespoke curtains and blinds.
Every piece is made to measure, so there is no price list. Email us rough dimensions and we'll give you a guide price; photos help, but they aren't essential.
Handmade curtains in pinch pleat, wave and Euro pleat headings, interlined or lined, with sheers, voiles and pelmets to match. We've made them for 12ft arched windows, bays, French doors and a farmhouse ceiling so uneven that the track had to be levelled first. Every pair is measured, made, fitted and professionally dressed by us.
Roman blinds are made in our workroom in the fabric you choose, plain, bordered or trimmed, and can sit under a pelmet or alongside curtains. We also supply and fit roller, Venetian, vertical, pleated and rooflight blinds, so one team looks after every window in the room.
Automation is a large part of our work now. We fit motorised tracks and blinds, hardwired or rechargeable, using systems including Silent Gliss and Somfy, and hang our own handmade curtains and Roman blinds on them. It suits tall, wide and hard-to-reach windows especially well.
Treasured chairs and sofas re-covered, headboards and upholstered beds made to measure, and footstools made to match. All of our upholstery is done in our own workroom, in fabric chosen with you to suit the rest of the room.
Scatter cushions with piping, borders or fringe, bolsters, seat and window-seat pads, bed runners, throws and bed valances. Made in our workroom to coordinate with your curtains, blinds and upholstery.
Help bringing the look together, from a mood board for one room to planning the whole house. We build on your own ideas and the pieces you already love, then make and fit the scheme in our own workroom.

Also made to order
Alongside our curtains, blinds, upholstery and soft furnishings, two more pieces can be part of a room we are working on.
We can arrange bespoke joinery, such as built-in bunk beds, as part of a room we are dressing. The bunk beds in our gallery have painted frames, oak posts and steps lit from within.
We can also arrange made-to-measure rugs, with a choice of weaves and bound edges, sized to suit the room. Our gallery shows rug samples with their bindings, from pebble weaves to flecked wools.
The fabric library
Fabric is half the decision, so we keep a strong fabric library at the studio and update it constantly as new collections arrive. You can see colours in daylight, feel the weight of a linen against a velvet, and hold a trim against the cloth before anything is cut.

We talk through your ideas, study the light in the room and measure precisely.
We advise on styles, headings and hardware, and you choose fabrics from our library.
Everything we make is cut, sewn and finished in our Howe Street workroom.
We hang and professionally dress what we've made, and hand over with advice on keeping it looking its best.

Yes, by appointment. Our showroom is at Unit 6, The Courtyard, Warners Farm, Howe Street, and there's no walk-in shop, so please get in touch first and we'll arrange a time. See showroom visits.

Yes. We measure, make and fit, and once curtains are hung we professionally dress them so they fall properly. Poles and tracks are supplied and fitted by us too.
We're based at Howe Street, near Chelmsford, and work mainly across Essex and the Home Counties. We take on larger projects further afield, and we work in London too. See the areas we cover.
